Experience the ultimate bareboat sailing journey from Marina Rogač to the historic city of Dubrovnik, discovering the southern gems of the Dalmatian coast along the way. This exclusive 7-day itinerary leads you through a diverse collection of Croatia’s most stunning islands-Šolta, Vis, Lastovo, Korčula, Mljet, and Šipan-culminating in the majestic fortified city of Dubrovnik. Perfect for experienced sailors craving diversity in scenery, culture, and natural beauty, this route offers the freedom to explore national parks, medieval towns, and remote anchorages all while navigating aboard a comfortable and powerful Oceanis 50 yacht.
About our service in Vis, Lastovo, Korčula, Mljet, and DubrovnikDay 1 begins with departure from Marina Rogač to Maslinica, a charming fishing village on the western edge of Šolta. Protected by six offshore islets, Maslinica’s natural harbor is ideal for a first anchorage. Visit the restored Baroque Martinis Marchi Castle, now a boutique hotel, and stroll the village’s quiet stone paths. For a deeper historical touch, sail over to nearby Stipanska Island to discover the ruins of a 5th-century basilica.
On Day 2, sail south to the island of Vis, famed for its untouched beauty and storied past. Cruise into the main harbor and visit ancient Issa, Croatia’s first Greek settlement. Landmarks include Roman-era baths, Renaissance palaces, and the two fortresses of Velintun and Fortica, each offering commanding views. The day ends docked in the peaceful harbor, where local taverns serve up grilled Adriatic seafood and Vis wine beneath the stars.
Day 3 takes you further south to Lastovo, part of a remote nature park. Navigate into Zaklopatica Bay for a scenic anchorage framed by steep cliffs and lush greenery. Hike through the main settlement of Lastovo, where traditional stone homes and lantern-like chimneys speak to the island’s unique architecture. With little urban development, Lastovo is a dream for stargazers, photographers, and those yearning for solitude amid pristine nature.
Day 4 leads to Korčula, often dubbed “Little Dubrovnik” due to its fortified walls and medieval charm. Drop anchor outside the old town and explore narrow cobbled alleys, Gothic-Renaissance palaces, and the majestic St. Mark’s Cathedral. Watch a traditional Moreška sword dance performance or visit the alleged birthplace of Marco Polo. Inland, the Lumbarda vineyards produce Croatia’s finest Grk wine, offering a delightful excursion for wine lovers.
On Day 5, make your way to Mljet, one of Croatia’s greenest islands and home to the National Park. Anchor at Polače, a well-sheltered bay ideal for overnight stays. Rent a bike or kayak to explore the park’s twin saltwater lakes and the islet of St. Mary with its 12th-century Benedictine monastery. The lakes' warmer, calmer waters provide perfect conditions for relaxed swimming or paddleboarding, surrounded by pine forests and pure tranquility.
Day 6 brings you to Šipan, the largest of the Elaphiti Islands. This quiet retreat is dotted with olive groves, historic villas from Dubrovnik’s nobility, and scenic hiking trails. The small harbor town is perfect for exploring by foot. Visit the 16th-century Rector’s Palace or enjoy a peaceful meal on the quayside, watching the sun dip behind the olive-draped hills.
Day 7 culminates with arrival in Dubrovnik, the “Pearl of the Adriatic.” Dock at ACI Marina Dubrovnik and take a short ride to the walled city center. Walk the iconic stone ramparts, visit Orlando’s Column and Rector’s Palace, and explore landmarks such as the Dubrovnik Cathedral and the Old Synagogue. Take a final sunset stroll down the Stradun, the main promenade lined with Renaissance facades and inviting cafes. Whether you choose a gourmet seafood dinner or a panoramic viewpoint overlooking the Adriatic, your final night in Dubrovnik offers an unforgettable finale to a week of adventure.
