Departing from the vibrant port town of Milazzo, this week-long sailing journey aboard the AICON 64 blends natural wonder with elegant relaxation. Located just 15 nautical miles from the Aeolian Islands, Milazzo provides the perfect starting point for exploring a diverse collection of volcanic islands. With every modern amenity at your fingertips and a seasoned captain and deckhand onboard, your bareboat charter becomes a curated experience that seamlessly combines freedom and guidance. Whether lounging on deck or diving into secluded bays, each day unfolds in its own rhythm across some of the most breathtaking scenery in the Mediterranean.
About Our Service in the Aeolian Islands
This route is ideal for travelers eager to immerse themselves in raw, untouched nature and explore islands that remain relatively untouched by mass tourism. Over seven nights, you’ll uncover the tranquil beauty of Filicudi and Alicudi, the lush scenery of Salina, the vibrant streets of Lipari, the elegance of Panarea, the dramatic spectacle of Stromboli, and the therapeutic landscapes of Vulcano. With complete flexibility in timing and activities, your professional crew ensures a safe and relaxed experience while you enjoy the natural and cultural gems of this iconic Sicilian archipelago.
Day 1: Boarding begins in Milazzo at Marina del Nettuno. After a full orientation with your captain and crew, you’ll have the opportunity to explore local markets, admire the medieval castle, or enjoy a casual dinner in one of the town’s traditional Sicilian trattorias. The yacht remains docked or anchored close to port for the night, allowing time to settle in and prepare for the journey ahead.
Day 2: Your first voyage takes you to Filicudi, one of the wildest and most scenic islands in the Aeolian chain. Snorkel in the crystal-clear waters near Grotta del Bue Marino, navigate around La Canna’s towering sea stack, and explore the small village of Pecorini a Mare. Evening brings a peaceful dinner by the sea and a night under stars untainted by city lights.
Day 3: From Filicudi, continue to Alicudi, a secluded island where time seems to stand still. With no cars and only mule paths, Alicudi offers a return to simplicity. Hike scenic trails or relax in pristine coves far from modern distractions. This is a rare opportunity to experience a corner of the Mediterranean that remains unspoiled and deeply rooted in tradition.
Day 4: The green landscapes of Salina welcome you next. Stop at Pollara Bay for a swim beneath dramatic cliff faces, then head inland to taste local Malvasia wine and homemade caper products. Those who enjoy active exploration can hike up Monte Fossa delle Felci, the archipelago’s tallest peak. In the evening, dine in Santa Marina, surrounded by pastel houses and a friendly village atmosphere.
Day 5: Lipari combines vibrant town life with rich history and inviting beaches. Spend your day exploring Corso Vittorio Emanuele, visiting the ancient citadel and archaeological museum, and swimming in the translucent waters of Spiaggia Bianca. The evening offers choices between waterfront dining, nightlife, or a relaxed night onboard as the yacht gently sways in port.
Day 6: The route now takes you through Panarea, where fashionable boutiques meet raw coastal beauty. Enjoy snorkeling in the clear waters of Lisca Bianca or visit the archaeological ruins at Capo Milazzese. Later in the day, cruise to Stromboli and arrive in time to watch the glowing eruptions of its volcano. An optional hike or sail past Sciara del Fuoco offers an unforgettable view of nature’s raw power.
Day 7: Begin your return with a final stop at Vulcano. Spend the morning soaking in the island’s warm mud baths or hiking to the rim of Gran Cratere for panoramic views. Swim at Baia delle Sabbie Nere before your final cruise back to Milazzo. Arrive by late afternoon, with time for a celebratory farewell dinner along the marina or a quiet final meal aboard.
Day 8: Your charter concludes after breakfast. With assistance from your crew, disembarkation takes place at 9:00 a.m. As you depart from Marina del Nettuno, the islands’ cliffs, vineyards, and steaming summits remain etched in your memory-hallmarks of a journey that blended remoteness and refinement aboard a beautifully equipped yacht.
