Positioned on the northeastern coast of Sicily, the town of Milazzo is a picturesque and practical embarkation point for those seeking to explore the UNESCO-listed Aeolian Islands. Nestled within its modern marina, the AICON 64 offers a luxurious yet intimate setting for a week of island-hopping adventure. With the port’s close proximity to charming cafés, coastal promenades, and historical landmarks, your journey begins with convenience, beauty, and all the essentials required for a smooth bareboat charter experience. Though a captain and deckhand are required, the route remains yours to shape as you uncover the marvels of this volcanic archipelago.
About Our Service in the Aeolian Islands
This week-long charter balances relaxation, natural wonder, and authentic island life, with a thoughtfully curated route covering Vulcano, Lipari, Salina, Panarea, and Stromboli. Whether you crave the indulgence of quiet anchorages, the thrill of thermal craters, or the charm of Sicilian villages, every day unveils a new destination to explore. Our personalized approach ensures you receive full support at embarkation and disembarkation while the mandatory professional crew onboard handles navigation and onboard assistance throughout your journey.
Day 1: Arrive at Marina del Nettuno in Milazzo by late afternoon. The captain and deckhand welcome you aboard the AICON 64 with a walk-through of the vessel and safety orientation. Before sunset, you might choose to stroll through the historic streets of Milazzo, explore the medieval castle perched above the town, or enjoy fresh seafood along the marina promenade. Spend the night docked or at anchor, preparing for the voyage ahead.
Day 2: Depart for Vulcano, a short yet stunning cruise where sulfuric landscapes and volcanic marvels await. Soak in natural mud baths at Laghetto di Fanghi and take a hike up to the Gran Cratere, where steam vents and views across the archipelago set the tone for the week. Later, unwind at Baia Negra, a black-sand beach known for its warm, mineral-rich waters. Dine ashore or enjoy an open-air barbecue on the yacht’s spacious flybridge.
Day 3: Cruise onward to Lipari, the largest and liveliest of the Aeolian Islands. A day here might include a cultural dive into the Aeolian Archaeological Museum, a leisurely walk through the narrow streets of the old town, or a swim at the famed Spiaggia Bianca. As evening falls, dine at one of the many family-run trattorias, sampling local delicacies such as pasta alla norma and caponata.
Day 4: Leave Lipari behind as you head toward the green, vineyard-covered island of Salina. Known for its laid-back elegance, Salina offers plenty to explore. Visit Pollara Bay, a cinematic landscape framed by dramatic cliffs, or take a vineyard tour to taste the island’s celebrated Malvasia wine. The salt flats of Lingua Beach offer a scenic spot for an afternoon swim before a relaxed sunset cocktail above Santa Marina.
Day 5: Panarea, the smallest and most exclusive island in the chain, greets you with crystalline waters and boutique flair. Enjoy snorkeling near Lisca Bianca, where underwater fumaroles bubble gently around you. Discover Cala Junco’s crescent-shaped bay or hike up to the prehistoric site of Capo Milazzese. In the evening, Panarea’s vibrant energy shines through at Raya Lounge, where music, cocktails, and seafront views make for a memorable night.
Day 6: Today’s voyage leads to Stromboli, home to one of the world’s most active volcanoes. After anchoring, explore the coastal village of Ginostra or swim from the black-sand beaches of Ficogrande. For those seeking adventure, a guided evening trek to the summit offers a close view of the volcano’s fire-spewing vents. Alternatively, enjoy the nighttime display from the water as you pass the Sciara del Fuoco, where glowing lava spills into the sea.
Day 7: Begin your journey back to Milazzo, with time for one last swim near Filicudi or a relaxed snorkel in the famed Blue Cave, weather permitting. This leisurely return allows for reflection and perhaps one more sun-soaked moment on the flybridge. Upon arrival in Milazzo, celebrate your final night with a traditional Sicilian dinner, taking in the town’s coastal lights from the deck or an open-air terrace ashore.
Day 8: Disembarkation takes place at 9:00 a.m. following a farewell breakfast onboard. As the captain and deckhand assist with check-out, you leave behind the rhythm of island life-but take with you a collection of unique experiences from a journey defined by volcanic majesty, seaside serenity, and the unparalleled comfort of the AICON 64.
