The Red Sea stretches southeast from Suez, Egypt, for approximately 1,200 miles (1,930 kilometers) to the Strait of Mandeb, which links to the Gulf of Aden and eventually to the Arabian Sea. It divides Egypt's, Sudan's, and Eritrea's coasts from those of Saudi Arabia and Yemen. It includes some of the hottest and saltiest waters on the planet. It is one of the world's busiest rivers, bringing traffic between Europe and Asia, thanks to its access to the Mediterranean Sea via the Suez Canal. Its name comes from the color variations seen in its waters. A narrow stretch of water stretching southeastward from Suez, Egypt, for approximately 1,200 miles (1,930 kilometers) to the Bab el-Mandeb Strait, which links with the Gulf of Aden and, from there, with the Arabian Sea. The Gulfs of Suez and Aqaba (Elat) must be regarded the northern extension of the same structure geologically. The sea divides the west coastlines of Egypt, Sudan, and Eritrea from the east coasts of Saudi Arabia and Yemen. It has a maximum width of 190 miles, a maximum depth of 9,974 feet (3,040 meters), and an area of around 174,000 square miles (450,000 square kilometers). The waters of the Gulf of Suez are teeming with marine life, including a diverse array of corals and tropical fish, not to mention the playful dolphins that are frequently observed along the beach. Which is why the Red Sea is ideal for fishing and diving. Crew and chef are included, however tips are not.
