Experience the legacy of centuries-old Adriatic navigation with this weekly bareboat sailing charter from Marina Baotić aboard the exceptional Bavaria Cruiser 51. Tailored for seasoned sailors seeking freedom and adventure, this route follows the renowned “Routes of Old Sea Captains,” weaving through historical maritime towns, UNESCO heritage sites, and secluded natural gems. As you navigate from the modern comforts of Seget Donji to the rich cultural ports of Dubrovnik, Korčula, Lastovo, and more, you’ll uncover the deep seafaring roots of Croatia’s southern coastline while indulging in the calm beauty of the Adriatic Sea. With your own yacht, the power to shape each day lies entirely in your hands.
About our service in the Routes of Old Sea CaptainsStarting at the state-of-the-art Marina Baotić, your charter begins with exceptional facilities designed for seamless provisioning, refueling, and guest comfort. The marina’s proximity to Trogir’s historic center also offers a cultural prelude before departure. After your check-in on Saturday at 17:00h, your week of discovery unfolds.
Day 1: From Marina Baotić, sail for approximately five hours to reach the scenic harbor of Vela Luka on Korčula Island. Known for its shipbuilding history and prehistoric Vela Spila Cave, Vela Luka invites you to relax in hidden coves or explore its quaint promenade. Dine on traditional Dalmatian fare in a seaside konoba as the sun melts into the sea.
Day 2: Next, venture to the Lastovo Archipelago, a remote and protected nature park known for its clarity and quietude. Dock at Skrivena Luka, a bay so secluded its name literally means "hidden harbor." Wander through Lastovo village to admire its cylindrical chimneys and old stone houses, then enjoy an evening under Europe’s darkest skies-perfect for stargazing in peaceful solitude.
Day 3: The route continues to Mljet National Park. One of the Adriatic’s most pristine environments, Mljet is famous for its twin saltwater lakes and the Benedictine monastery that rests on a small islet in the middle of Veliko Jezero. Rent kayaks or bikes to explore the park’s lush greenery and round off your day with fresh seafood at a lakefront restaurant.
Day 4: Arrive in Dubrovnik after a morning sail. This majestic walled city, known as the Pearl of the Adriatic, offers an immersive cultural experience. Walk the ramparts of its UNESCO-listed Old Town, visit iconic sites like Stradun and Fort Lovrijenac, and take in panoramic views via the Dubrovnik cable car. Sip cocktails at Buza Bar perched dramatically on the cliffs, overlooking the open sea.
Day 5: Depart for the nearby Elafiti Islands-Šipan, Lopud, and Koločep-each offering a distinct island experience. Begin with Šipan’s Renaissance summer estates, relax at Lopud’s sandy Šunj Beach, and anchor overnight at green and car-free Koločep. This trio of islands is perfect for unwinding amid untouched nature and turquoise waters.
Day 6: Your next stop is the Pelješac Peninsula, specifically the town of Orebić. Explore the Maritime Museum or hike to the hilltop Franciscan Monastery for panoramic views of Korčula and the channel below. In the afternoon, head to the Dingač and Postup wine regions to taste robust reds produced from Plavac Mali grapes. A wine-lovers’ paradise awaits.
Day 7: On your final full day, make a short detour to Trsteno, home to a 15th-century arboretum featured in Game of Thrones. Stroll through this Renaissance garden before heading back toward Marina Baotić. Along the way, enjoy one last swim in a quiet bay and conclude your voyage with a farewell dinner in Trogir’s Old Town-a masterpiece of medieval architecture and a perfect final note to an extraordinary journey.
Day 8: Disembark by 09:00h at Marina Baotić, bringing a close to your unforgettable week sailing the storied routes of Croatia’s maritime history.
