Embark on a voyage of contrasts and cultural depth as you navigate Croatia’s Dalmatian Wonders route aboard the spacious and high-performance Bavaria Cruiser 51. Departing from Marina Baotić, this weekly bareboat sailing charter is designed for independent sailors eager to explore a dynamic coastline where ancient heritage and natural beauty merge. From quiet island villages and UNESCO-listed towns to hidden beaches and lively coastal cities, the itinerary offers a versatile sailing adventure filled with rich experiences. Whether you’re diving into history in Split or soaking up the sun on Šolta’s serene shores, this route delivers seven days of freedom, discovery, and unforgettable moments.
About our service in the Dalmatian Wonders RouteYour journey begins at Marina Baotić in Seget Donji, a top-tier marina with everything needed to prepare for an epic week at sea-secure parking, fuel docks, provisioning stores, and direct access to the Dalmatian archipelago. After check-in on Saturday at 17:00h, it’s time to begin exploring.
Day 1: Depart for the nearby island of Šolta, a quiet haven with olive groves, rustic charm, and pristine bays. Anchor in the quaint fishing village of Maslinica where traditional stone houses face the glimmering sea. Relax with a glass of local wine and enjoy dinner in a konoba as fishermen return with their daily catch.
Day 2: In the morning, head toward Biševo Island to witness the famed Blue Grotto. Midday light filters through the water and creates an otherworldly blue glow inside this sea cave. Continue sailing to Stari Grad on Hvar Island, one of Europe’s oldest towns. Stroll the historic Stari Grad Plain, a UNESCO site preserving ancient Greek land division patterns. Overnight along the palm-lined promenade and enjoy wine tasting with views of the bay.
Day 3: Depart for Split, Croatia’s coastal metropolis and home to Diocletian’s Palace. Walk through its maze of Roman-era streets, explore Peristyle Square, and climb the Bell Tower for sweeping views. Shop local markets, sip coffee in historic courtyards, and discover how ancient heritage lives in harmony with contemporary culture. Split's vibrant nightlife invites you to celebrate the halfway point of your journey.
Day 4: Sail south to Makarska, nestled between the sea and Biokovo Mountain. Here, turquoise waters lap against pebble beaches while towering cliffs rise dramatically in the background. Spend your day sunbathing, paragliding, or hiking through Biokovo Nature Park. As night falls, explore Makarska’s lively harbor and enjoy grilled seafood at a beachfront bistro.
Day 5: A short sail brings you to Omiš, once home to Adriatic pirates. Discover its fortress-topped cliffs, deep canyons, and thrilling adventures. Raft the Cetina River or go zip-lining through the gorge. Climb Mirabella Fortress for panoramic views before indulging in the hearty Dalmatian specialty-peka-prepared in iron bells over coals.
Day 6: Turn inland by docking in Trogir’s historic center. A walking tour here is like stepping back in time. Visit the Cathedral of St. Lawrence and Kamerlengo Fortress, and lose yourself in the maze of alleys lined with artisan shops and stone façades. Trogir’s harmony of Romanesque and Renaissance architecture is best appreciated with dinner on a terrace overlooking the marina.
Day 7: On your final full day, enjoy a morning swim in a quiet bay before making your way back to Marina Baotić. Take time to unwind, refuel, and reflect on the incredible variety of places and experiences you’ve collected throughout your voyage. Cap off the evening with a farewell meal in the heart of Trogir’s UNESCO-listed old town.
Day 8: Disembark at 09:00h, concluding a journey through the cultural and natural wonders of Dalmatia.
