For sailors craving authentic experiences and a slightly off-the-beaten-path itinerary, this weekly bareboat charter aboard the Bavaria Cruiser 51 is your gateway to Croatia’s northern Dalmatian coast. Departing from Marina Baotić, the Dalmatian Coast Explorer route features ancient salt towns, nature parks, and undiscovered bays. With complete autonomy, you’ll glide past olive-covered islands, explore Zadar’s Roman heart, and discover culinary and cultural treasures on Pag and Ugljan. This itinerary is tailored for those who seek both solitude and immersion-where every port reveals a different aspect of Croatia’s coastal soul.
About our service in the Dalmatian Coast Explorer itineraryBased in the ultra-modern Marina Baotić, your bareboat charter kicks off with world-class facilities and a perfectly positioned start point. After a smooth check-in on Saturday evening, your 7-night route through the Dalmatian north begins.
Day 1: Your first leg takes you to Biograd na Moru, a charming seaside town that once served as a Croatian royal capital. Dock in the central marina and explore the old town. Visit the Kornati National Park information center and enjoy dinner along the waterfront promenade.
Day 2: Sail to Ugljan, the "green island," known for its lush olive groves and forested hills. Hike to St. Michael’s Fortress for panoramic views of Zadar’s island archipelago. Spend the afternoon swimming in turquoise coves and exploring traditional fishing villages like Preko.
Day 3: A short cruise brings you to Telašćica Nature Park, a dramatic bay with towering cliffs, saltwater lake Mir, and serene anchorages. Spend the day kayaking, swimming, and hiking trails with panoramic views. Enjoy a peaceful overnight anchored in this untouched oasis.
Day 4: Your next destination is Zadar, one of Croatia’s cultural powerhouses. Walk through Roman forums and visit St. Donatus Church. Don’t miss the Sea Organ and Greeting to the Sun-two modern marvels that fuse nature, music, and light. Sample Pag cheese and maraschino liqueur in local taverns.
Day 5: Head inland to the fjord-like bay of Novigrad, a medieval town with dramatic cliffs and calm waters. Kayak the sheltered bay, explore its fortress, and savor fresh mussels and oysters harvested nearby. It’s a quiet contrast to the bustle of Zadar.
Day 6: Continue to the stark and fascinating island of Pag. Known for its lunar-like terrain, traditional lacework, and world-renowned cheese, Pag offers a different side of Dalmatia. Visit the salt pans, explore Venetian ruins, and tour a cheese factory before relaxing on one of its pristine beaches.
Day 7: Your final leg returns you to Marina Baotić, with scenic swim stops along the way. Reflect on a week of exploration that’s taken you from royal cities to quiet villages, from bustling ports to tranquil cliffs. Celebrate with dinner in Trogir’s old town-an architectural gem just a few minutes away.
