MALLORCA

The maritime infrastructure of Mallorca is excellent. The 550 km long coast of the Balearic Islands is home to more than 80 bays with anchorages. Although the 90 km long stretch of coastline between Cap Formentor in the north of Mallorca and Dragonera is difficult to reach, it is home to one of Europe's most well-known sailing spots, the Bay of Pollença, which features majestic cliffs and idyllic beaches. There are not many sizable shoals of fish and the wind conditions are great.

In Mallorca, there are more than 40 marinas with top-notch amenities. Others were built artificially and are used as anchorages by both professional and recreational sailors. Some are found in Mallorca's scenic bays, such the marina in Port d'Sóller. The coastal districts of Mallorca are not particularly challenging for sailors, with the exception of the sporadic tight turns into some of the narrow bays. A Mediterranean sailing excursion is one of the highlights for many visitors.
